Z.I.P.P.O - Eleven [SK_Eleven]

Z.I.P.P.O returns to SK11 with his sophomore EP, Eleven—a four-track collection that defies formulas without losing its footing in techno’s roots. Audaciously unconventional yet highly functional, each track acts as a passage: a shift in tempo, tone, or texture, molded by a deeply personal sonic vision. Rather than offering a fixed narrative, the record invites fluid movement: between genres, emotional states, and sonic architectures. Eleven is a painstakingly tuned exercise in tension, groove, and release; a thoughtful and uncompromising work from one of Italy’s most singular voices.

The EP opens with the title track, “Eleven,” which carries the weight of a timeless anthem, balancing melancholy and catharsis through a hard-hitting melodic motif, sustained by a heavy, hypnotic kick. “Hypernova” delves into submerged territory, where oscillating percussion, fragmented vocals, and aquatic atmospheres unfold with an eerie precision atop a carefully crafted 909 foundation. On the B-side, “Kaus” moves in a state of continuous evolution: elegant and profound, guided by tribal rhythms and enveloping chords that flow into trance-like dimensions. “Replication” closes the cycle with relentless pressure: twisted sound design, a full-bodied groove, and a sense of motion that refuses to resolve.
