Rhythm Section International's ambitious Shouts 2021 compilation has been split into two parts and distributed across a pair of essential 12” maxis. This is the second installment, and it lives up to the first. Our favorite moment comes from Kareem Ali, one of the year's breakout artists thanks to his enormous productivity and excellent form. His track "Black Futures" is an intense and enveloping piece of house, driven by powerful kick drums and astral synthesizers that connect directly with the soul.

Meanwhile, Hassan Abou Alam presents "Hella Mega Drive," a combination of hi-hats, percussion, and bass lines intertwined in a compact groove that defies any defined genre, while the swing of Pookie's "Beast Mode" is simply irresistible. An outstanding release from start to finish.
