Key LA underground spaces DISCOS XXX — also known as DX3 — and Elbow Grease join forces to proudly present the Point Winona Sound Library Vol. 1: a compilation that gathers 20 distinct artists from the inspired local dance music scene, working under one studio roof in various collaborative configurations within the towering palace on the Los Feliz hill, Point Winona, observing from above the city they collectively represent.

These timeless tracks, made for destroying dancefloors and warehouse-turned-clubs, work perfectly on their own, but as a whole they offer a sonic statement with a strong geographical identity: they share a rhythmic DNA and a futuristic production vision with deep roots, guided by the curatorial work and direction of executive producers Tavish DJ and Dave Aju.

The opener, by BPS, sets the stage by evoking those crunchy early morning hours with a lush blend of Detroit and California in “Within Reason”. Then, the 5 ATMs studio team elevates the dancefloor dub vibe with “A Dub Called Mondo”, while Chicago-to-LA legend Scott K delivers a bass-heavy FM acid house bomb in “Tighter & Tighter”.

Nashville-native producer Gryph turns up the heat with the boogie groove and live energy in “Winona at Sunset”, while SSRI — comprised of DJ Dex/Nomadico from Underground Resistance, Dave Aju, and Kosmik from Black Lodge — unleashes a fierce dose of robo-Italo happiness in “Omnicallora”.

The compilation gets even more psychedelic with the PW edit of “Be Work Zone Alert”, Scotty Coats’ sublime mid-tempo journey. Later, Omakase's Gold Code alongside his lifelong rave brother, Aju, deliver the aggressive J Saul tribute titled “Yolo Jungle”, while Warehouse Preservation Society — the duo Tavish DJ and TK — completely blows up the dancefloor with “Data Bliss”, in a chaotic and wild Wicked Crew-style version.

The undisputed queen of the LA scene, Stacy Christine, appears with her brilliant debut “Smart Move”, where she exchanges mischievous vocal lines and party advice with Aju over a tech bomb destined to last for years. Then comes “Obsesion Romantica (Free Winona Dub)”, where Sisters Of Sound — Maddy Maia and Tottie's original track — is stripped to its essence and rebuilt as an acid track for the peak of the night.

To close, Dave Aju and his San Francisco friends, Moniker — EO and Kenneth Scott — release an explosion of fast-paced melodic bruk in “Chuy Luis”, and finally Vastir takes us back home with the stratospheric drum & bass closer titled “Turnpike”.
