Drumcode returns with its emblematic A-Sides series, spearheaded by a huge new single from Adam Beyer leading this 20-track compilation.
If you want a snapshot of techno in any given year, look no further than Drumcode's annual A-Sides compilation. The release charts the evolution of the genre, while also providing a platform for some of the most outstanding demos Adam Beyer has received throughout the year, allowing numerous emerging artists to release their music on Drumcode for the first time. Clear examples include Wehbba, Charles D, and Raxon, who all debuted on the label via the A-Sides series and subsequently became regular contributors to Beyer's influential labels.
This year's edition features an exciting mix of established heavyweights alongside a new generation of artists poised to make their mark on the genre. "We Don't Say Please" perfectly reflects Adam Beyer's sound in 2025: fresh, experimental, and fueled by the fusion of different styles, where elements of bass music, rap, and techno converge, accompanied by an unmistakable British vocal. The result is truly inspiring.
The 20-track compilation is packed with highlights. HI-LO's "NYC to Amsterdam" combines New York house influences with powerful techno elements. Nicole Moudaber returns to Drumcode alongside the promising ZLATA to present the explosive "Report to the Dancefloor." Oscar L and Charles D premiere a new creative alliance with "Lift Me Up," an immersive and spatial cut. LUSU continues his excellent run after the recent EP "Move 2 the Groove" with the devastating single "LIKE THIS." Meanwhile, Mark Reeve once again demonstrates his usual force with the hypnotic "My Mind," driven by huge synths. The talented Kaufmann contributes "People are Strange," a modern reinterpretation of a classic vocal adapted for today's techno audience.
As is tradition, several rising producers debut on Drumcode. Among them is Uruguayan Enzo Monza, who presents "Late Night," one of Beyer's favorite tracks; Mattia Saviola, whose "Parallel Dimension" stands out for its power and excellent sound design; Romanian artist Tao Andra, author of the ethereal "Unity"; and industry veteran AdamK, who makes a well-deserved Drumcode debut alongside Vikthor and MC Stretch with the impressive "Silence + The Sound."
