Stevie Cox & Ansboy, two powerhouses from the Glasgow club scene, join forces for their collaborative debut EP on Rhythm Section INTL: Twice Like Rice. This is a solid four-track EP designed for the dancefloor, absorbing influences from dub techno, breaks, trance, and timeless classic house. The EP is full of deep, pulsating rhythms, lush textures, and emotive peaks, all pre-tested in Stevie's iconic territory: Sub Club.

Stevie Cox has long been a name consistently mentioned in the scene, as a resident DJ at the legendary Sub Club, with an increasingly extensive touring schedule and releases on labels such as Klasse Wrecks and Optimo. Meanwhile, while the name Ansboy might be new to some, it is the new alias of Grammy-nominated producer and mixing engineer Robert Etherson, a long-established figure in the Scottish scene with a solid international touring history.

The two friends met in their hometown, Glasgow, and began their musical adventure together last year after Robert taught Stevie how to mix down. The connection between them was immediate, quickly discovering a shared passion for emotive, deep, and progressive dance music. Their first track together—which took shape as "Drift," a high-energy synth-driven anthem—appeared in a special selection curated by Bradley Zero for his exclusive summer compilation SHOUTS Summer sampler in 2025.

On the Twice Like Rice EP, their work covers all corners of the dancefloor, kicking off with "GC," an intense breaks-influenced trance heater designed for peak time: a masterclass in tension building before exploding into a scorching climax. Then, the journey moves towards a darker, more percussive approach with the more intense track, "Twice Like Rice."

On the B-side, things return to a warm and enveloping euphoria with "Virgil," a perfect warm-up dub-techno ballad, before the emotional release of "Carter 21," inspired by the closing of "Subculture."
