Riva Starr presents his fifth album Keep Me On The Dancefloor on Snatch! Records. An opportunity to showcase his evolution as a producer and artist, the album reveals an unexpected Riva Starr sound: one that explores a renewed creative approach, focused on songwriting, collaboration and storytelling that has its roots firmly on the dancefloor.

Includes collaborations with Chromeo, Flight Facilities, Harry Stone and more.

“The album was created entirely through writing sessions with talented musicians, songwriters and singers. This approach brings something unique, as being in the same room with other creative people adds an extra layer of creativity and depth, elevating the quality of the production. Most songs came together quickly thanks to the amazing vibe and chemistry in the studio. Sometimes, the process required back and forth and more than one session to get to the perfect spot.” – Riva Starr

Fusing sounds that represent distinct stages of his career, Keep Me On The Dancefloor transitions nostalgically and naturally between disco, funk, soul, filtered house, and even classic rock-style guitars. It’s a summary of his journey to date, a work that amplifies the positive moments, memories, and experiences found only in music. It explores what it means to connect with someone in the moment: a celebration of losing inhibitions with music and finding yourself in total synchronicity with someone you’ve just met.

Loaded with narrative and heartfelt lyrics, this is his most personal work to date, the result of a thoughtful approach to music-making, based on collaboration, with one foot still on the dancefloor and the other firmly in the studio, guiding a range of talents to build something unique alongside him. Moving away from the DJ-focused cuts that have characterized much of his career, the fifteen songs on Keep Me On The Dancefloor are much deeper. With singer Harry Stone contributing infectious melodies and vocals on at least half of the record, a clear maturity is felt on all levels.

Among the standout collaborations are electro-funk duo Chromeo on the irresistible I Was Lost, and Nic Hanson’s Prince-esque vocals on (I’ll Be Your) Paradise. Know You Love Me – the chilled-out, sunny track with Flight Facilities – complements Biishop’s melancholic vocals on Wildfire, and the disco-infused cut It Feels Much Better alongside Harry Stone.

Music is a tonic for the soul, but it feels much better when it's with someone else.
