Rick Wade - To The People Part 2 [People Of Earth]

People Of Earth label bosses claim Rick Wade is on top form with his latest release. While that's undoubtedly true, the Detroit artist has impossibly high standards and rarely puts out anything that is anything less than stellar. The four tracks here are deliciously deep and fluid, with the Fender Rhodes solos, snaking organ lines, warm bass and punchy beats of "Never Give Up" striking the perfect blend of instrumental deftness and dance floor-ready weight. "Seen At Night" is an even deeper and hazier gem, while "Forever Alone" features bongo-laden beats and swirling electric piano chords, surrounded by an absurdly warm and potent bassline. The solo-laden closer "Rooftop" is also a cracker: a perfect sunset selection of the highest order.
