Rampa - They Will EP [Innervisions]

Keinemusik co-founder Gregor Sutterlin, a.k.a. Rampa, is the latest signing to the Innervisions label. His debut EP for the label is dancefloor-friendly and mostly ready for the club, but is also slightly more experimental and quirky in its approach than you might perhaps expect from Ame and Dixon's long-running imprint. First, check out the continuous suite of tracks on side A, where the quirky electronics and effects-laden looped vocals of "79249 (Intro)" flow seamlessly into the ghostly lead lines, driving arpeggio bassline, spooky effects, and precise techno drums of "They Will." The Radiohead-influenced vocal number, "Tell Me Are We," is an out-of-the-box tech-house collaboration with WhoMadeWho, while "Lavender Boogie" is a richly percussive affair full of ice cream van bells, dense African percussion, and subtle tech-house tones.
