Rahaan is one of Chicago's finest: he does it all, from edits and disco to dusty house and soulful gems. He proves it once again by inaugurating a new label, Gospel One, with a double 12” composed of gospel-infused cuts. The opening track is a noisy and funky piece, with powerful vocals and playful basslines. On the other hand, 'Message In Our Muzik' offers a nimble groove with organic-sounding drums and an excellent female vocal on top. 'Don't You Worry' raises the tension with fast, funk-filled beats, while 'He Can' gets rawer, with dirty bass and a call-and-response vocal interplay. A release full of passion, without a doubt.
