Heist is, first and foremost, a label dedicated to quality house music with an eccentric twist. Promoting great music from the Netherlands is our second priority. After featuring many notable artists from our home country, we’re excited to showcase yet another young Dutch talent with our latest release: Perdu.

You might know him from his solo debut on Let’s Play House or his follow-up release on Optimo Music last year. Perdu’s music is played by big names in the scene such as Hunee, Optimo, and Palms Trax, to name a few, and of course, by us. We’re proud to present his Skye EP to you. His new release features three varied original tracks and a rave anthem by our fun Australian friend DJ Boring.

The A-side kicks off with Jane’s World, the track that made us fall in love with this EP when we heard the demo. It’s a global-tinged house monster, packed with harmonized drum rolls, a Frenchman’s count, and a funky arpeggio for the perfect touch.

Sacramento takes a more introspective approach, leaning on a broken beat and atmospheric pads. The consistency of the kalimba alongside the vocal gives it a particular swing that left us wanting more.

The B-side starts with Morbid, an electronic anthem full of life where Perdu demonstrates his mastery in building a good progression. Throughout the track, a lead slowly opens up, accompanied by bells, harps, hand percussion, and rides, all building towards a beautiful climax without the track ever feeling forced.

While the three original tracks are, to some extent, introverted and restrained, DJ Boring’s remix is quite the opposite. His version of Jane’s World is packed with rave leads, hard-hitting percussion, and epic breakdowns that will do wonders at any festival or club closing set.
