Nathalie Duchene - Praia EP [Toy Tonics]

Reference house label Toy Tonics operates at what we might call the traditional end of the spectrum, but always manages to find fertile ground within that realm. This is another case in point, an excellent EP from Nathalie Duchene that gets the party vibes going from the start. 'Praia' is a hefty slab of disco house with plenty of funk and an exotic vocal. The Yuksek remix is full of Philadelphia-style strings and camp disco energy, while 'Glatson' delves into a deeper, darker, late-night cosmic groove, but still melodious. A Boom Bass remix then explores Mediterranean house soundscapes.
