Parisian label Chuwanaga is proud to present its latest 12-inch release from Jéroboam: *"Brexit Funk / Peckham Night"*. The band, also known on the streets of Paris and Montreuil as *Echoes Of*, pays homage to Britfunk and the rich musical legacy of Greater London, reflecting their deep admiration for the iconic sound of this genre. After several successful collaborations with the label, including events at Paris's emblematic New Morning, Jéroboam has created two brilliant compositions for this EP.

*"Brexit Funk"* is an electrifying tribute to the London jazz-funk scene of the late seventies and early eighties. It is an extraordinary track reminiscent of the early sounds of Incognito and Freeez, imbued with the energy of Hot Cuisine and Hi-Tension. It features a prominent horn section, incredible solos, and a powerful rhythm section. Having played in London and now across the UK, the band ironically decided to name this track as a musical reminder of this peculiar transition.

On the B-side is *"Peckham Night"* and its dub version, an outstanding composition that perfectly emulates the late seventies soul-jazz atmosphere. Singer Agyei's beautiful vocals are seamlessly integrated into this perfect composition. Throughout the track, one feels the cohesion of the band, bringing out the best of their musical soul. It is the work of passionate and experienced musicians who have built strong trust playing together for years.

Jéroboam is a 10-piece Parisian funk group, recognized as one of the most prominent collectives on the current scene in France. With extensive live experience and a solid reputation between Paris and London, the band has successfully paid tribute to the iconic American funk cities of the 70s and 80s. They have also gained attention as a backing band for artists such as Howard Johnson, Junior Giscombe, and Kyoto Jazz Massive. With two acclaimed EPs on the Space Grapes label, they are now continuing to work on original compositions under the name Jéroboam, with their debut album scheduled for release in 2025.
