Hudson's Choice & Franc Spangler - Myatts Field EP [Delusions Of Grandeur]

Jimpster dons his Franc Spangler cap and teams up with up-and-coming London producer and DJ Hudson’s Choice, for a four-track EP entitled “Myatts Field”. Touching on tripped-out, slow-mo electronic grooves, tropical ambiences and percussive house jams, this body of work brings a more experimental and leftfield sound to Delusions Of Grandeur, which we are sure you’ll love!

Opening track, ‘AcidMan’, sets the tone with a bubbling 303 line taking centre stage, as pitched down vocals add a hint of menace, adding to the psychedelic vibe. Dubby FX and analogue synth lines drift in and out of focus, giving a live jam feel to the arrangement, reminding us of something that might grace the decks of A Love From Outer Space.

‘Heavily Percussed’ continues to deliver a crazy percussive tool loaded with off-kilter cross rhythms, glitchy found sounds and a hypnotic synth sequence to complete.

Flip over to ‘Myatts Field’, another slower tempo discoid house groove that takes us deep into the jungle on a journey. Reverberating sax and hazy vocals transport us to another world where Weather Report experimented with four-to-the-floor grooves and spacious dub.

Closing the EP, ‘Roots’ ramps up the tempo with another percussive laden piece of tropical sounds that pays homage to masters such as Gregory and Osunlade. Melodic steel pan lines intertwine with echoing synth sequences, creating an unusual but catchy club track that will snare dancers into its incessant groove.
