Guy J - 94 Blossom [Armadillo]

Guy J was making prog house long before it was back in vogue and is likely to still be making it long after it has gone through the fashion cycle and out the other side. What that means is you get a certain quality to his work, and that is once again evident here. '94 Blossom' is his new one-sided 12" and it is every bit as melancholic and grand as you would imagine. The drums set the tone, rolling deep over a pulsating bassline with pads suspended up top. Melodies eventually take over and soar into an infinite cosmos, leaving you in awe.
