Finally, Frank & Tony’s seminal work with breakout duo Bob Moses gets a repress on vinyl. Francis Harris and Anthony Collins (Frank & Tony) collaborated with their fellow New Yorkers before the latter signed to Domino and broke out globally.

The four-track EP opens with “Elea,” a deep and thoughtful collaboration that utilises Frank & Tony’s polished production alongside understated vocals. Next, on the A-side, is “Holding On,” which features Bob Moses’ iconic vocals over a laid-back groove. There are also brass touches that add a new dimension to the track. Moving on to the B-side, “Holy for Her” (which also appeared in 2012) is a hypnotic, densely interwoven groove, which provides the base for Tom Howie and Jim Vallance to perform their special magic. To conclude, “Marigold” is another early classic from the same period – a dubby groove with energetic percussion and a stunning signature vocal.

This is an essential release that captures a vital period in the development of both groups.
