Next year, the emblematic anthem Café Del Mar will celebrate its 30th anniversary, a milestone that will be celebrated with a series of new remixes along with the best existing remixes in specially remastered versions. The launch of the vinyl release series in September is an exclusive remastered vinyl release of the original mix, as well as the most well-known version of this classic track, the iconic Three ‘N One Remix.

Almost 30 years ago, Paul M aka DJ Kid Paul, recording as Energy 52, released a record to an unsuspecting public that would end up defining club culture for an entire generation of dance music enthusiasts. Named in homage to Ibiza’s legendary sunset spot, Café Del Mar broke down barriers between the underground and the mainstream, reaching the top spots on the UK singles charts on three different occasions and named as the “greatest track of all time” by Mixmag at the beginning of the new millennium. In terms of cultural and emotional impact on dance music, it is hard to find a record that comes close.

Café Del Mar has come to represent the most euphoric and hedonistic pleasures of dance floors, in Ibiza and around the world, and has been remixed by some of the biggest names in the industry. Now, 30 years after its original release, Superstition Records will release a new series of releases, featuring new remixes and remastered versions of some of the many remixes from the last three decades. The exclusive remastered vinyl version of the original and the Three ‘N One mixes will kick off the series, with more details on the rest of the series to be announced in the coming weeks.

In 2021, Paul Van Dyk’s Café Del Mar remixes launched a series of vinyl and digital re-releases on the Superstition Records label after a hiatus of almost 20 years. From 1993 to 2003, Superstition Records was a pioneering Techno, Tech-House and Trance label and released some of the biggest and most revered records in the early German electronic scene.
