Cyborg Nerve - Cristalizacion EP [Cyphon Recordings]

The heads behind Vicario Musique Recordings have already made their mark under their Soul of Hex alias, pushing their cosmic and vibrant vision of deep house. Their sound has captured the attention of labels and artists worldwide; imprints such as Delusions of Grandeur, Freerange Records, and Quintessentials have shared their music, and they even received the stamp of approval from Chicago legend Larry Heard, who remixed their 2014 track "Lip Reading." As Mano De Fuego, they have also managed to get their music into the hands of pioneering figures in the US dance music scene: this summer, they released a shamanic-tinged debut on none other than the inimitable Underground Resistance.

For their debut as Cyborg Nerve, the duo delivers four cuts of old-school electro grooves. The title track, "Cristalización," opens the EP: an interstellar electro journey where celestial pads float over a warm bassline and staccato percussive rhythms. It's followed by its namesake track, which ups the energy level with a vibrant bassline driving the track forward, rumbling and roaring while crisp hi-hats sizzle overhead.

Tijuana 3000 is another tailor-made cut for the dance floor. Like the title track, the duo evokes the jazz-tinged intergalactic electronics of Detroit's Galaxy 2 Galaxy, combining cosmic and shimmering melodies with a hypnotic acid line that takes center stage. "Machine Effect" closes the EP: as the title suggests, the track is driven by a raw machine funk groove and precise drum programming—no frills, just pure cosmic vibes to get your body moving.
