Shir Khan celebrates the 37th release on his notorious Black Jukebox imprint with a stunning slice of Balearic house courtesy of the mysterious Cécille affiliate Cabin Luv Affair. This release follows hot on the heels of his debut album which has been getting props from the likes of Fouk, Laurent Garnier, Jamie Jones, Mr. V, and Archie Hamilton.

For this installment, the enigmatic maestro serves up 4 celebratory cuts which occupy a unique space between house and disco; a territory historically occupied by the likes of Pepe Bradock, Damiano Von Eckert, and Andrés. This style is characterized by beautifully imperfect productions, heavy on samples and with a palpable depth and soul.

The record opens with "Te Siento." Polyrhythmic percussion bubbles over the top of a deep soundscape which acts as a base for vibrant drum hits, romantic vocals, and a spine-tingling string riff. A hazy opening then gives way to the core of the recording; a motivating 90’s-esque piano riff which is then taken over by xylophone tones as a tight, driving bassline pulses at the heart of the track.

"Dance With Us" unfurls into an alluring and immersive atmosphere. Smooth synth chords, a relaxed drum beat, and hedonistic vocals create a warm and intense ambiance, with a distinct elegance that evokes the essence of Chicago.

"Time Is Killing Us" continues with an impeccably executed house groove, perfect for an end-of-night set. Floating strings, euphoric piano riffs, and a solid rhythmic foundation generate a gentle yet powerful euphoria that gains momentum as the track progresses. The ecstatic climax unfolds before collapsing and fading just before the lights come on.

"My Head Like Shibuya Crossing" closes out with a tight deep house cut. Smooth melodies adorn a kinetic bass groove, while a delicate Japanese vocal subtly emerges. As with much of the record, the track elegantly flows between its chapters, with the melody always at the forefront, bringing the release to an exquisite conclusion.
