Every now and then an album project appears out of nowhere homeless, demanding to be licensed and shared with the world.

It was discovered on one of Paper's exploratory trips. BOM's album sounded like nothing else out there, only like the future. Shrouded in mystery and with an unknown origin, Africa runs through its DNA, but sometimes mysteries are best left…

Ase – a Yoruba philosophy that represents the power that makes things happen and generates change; bestowed upon gods, ancestors, spirits, humans, animals, plants, rocks, rivers, songs, and prayers.
BOM takes influences from all corners of Africa and its diaspora, and fuses them with 25 years of western electronic music into a blend of experimental and forward-thinking afro-futurism.

The album features one of Africa's brightest rising stars, Luka Productions (from Mali), cosmic poet Sirius Rush (UK), and master percussionist and vocalist Felix Ngindu (DRC/Liverpool), for a journey into kaleidoscopic afro-tech funk. Gqom, Shangaan electro and township funk intersect with hip-hop, bass, deep house, and dub in a psychedelic celebration of collaboration and possibility.

As geographical and musical barriers blur, BOM’s ‘Ase’ spearheads the revolution: from London to Lagos, from Lisbon to São Paulo, from Bamako to Berlin, BOM captures the sound of the underground.
