Five years ago, G.D.E., the duo comprised of Robin 12Tree and Bongo Koi, embarked on an unforgettable road trip in an old silver Mercedes loaded with instruments and disco lights. Departing from London, their mission was to explore and celebrate the diverse music of Gambia, a place that had stolen their hearts during a school exchange 25 years prior.

Every kilometer was a new adventure, marked by jam sessions with local artists and spontaneous recordings. The highlight came when they met Reverend Joseph N'Gole, a Gambian mystic, on the banks of the Gambia River. His hypnotic voice imbued the A-side track, “Enlightenment Is Now”, with a profound spiritual resonance.
