Xenomorph - Negative Time EP [Suntrip Records]

Negative Time! Xenomorph's new 12" vinyl EP has a name that reflects our global crisis. The best way to face these dark times is through the therapeutic power of music. This 3-track EP is a taste of the upcoming album Netherverse, due out in early 2024. Followers of Mark Petrick know exactly what to expect: goa-trance with a darker twist, but still full of powerful melodies, unique kicks, and psychedelic effects.

The opening track, Negative Time, is a musical interpretation of zero-point energy creation and quantum physics. Cutting, yet melodic goa riffs take the listener on a journey backward in time through a blend of darkness that flows into a positively melodic ending. Danger on the High Seas is a deeper, more direct track with techno tints, where light and darkness perform a wonderful dance among the crests of high waves. The song was inspired by the mysterious disappearance of Flight 19 in the Bermuda Triangle.

The last track, Lost In An Old Junkyard, is known to those who bought the Carpe Noctem compilation on Suntrip. It is now available on vinyl with a different mix: the Tow Hook Mix. This track is the most classic Xenomorph: alienating and harrowing effects, mixed with exalted melodies.
