Wonkie remix IO (Mulen) - I Meet Somebody [Artreform]

The 50th-anniversary release from renowned vinyl label Artreform marks a significant milestone, connecting the past to the future. Label boss JOSS, a Kyiv-based DJ and producer, continues to unearth new talent. This latest offering features a track from the promising Ukrainian producer Wonkie, still relatively unknown within the electronic music scene. Additionally, it includes a remix by European house superstar IO (Mulen). IO debuted on Artreform in 2013 with the ghetto banger "Criminal Stuff," leading to multiple collaborations with the label. Two years ago, he returned with a remix of JOSS's single "Justify." IO (Mulen) embodies Artreform's prestigious history while also offering a glimpse into its vibrant future.

The new EP presents a blend of past and future influences. The lead track, "I Meet Somebody," showcases Artreform's signature minimal house sound with a subtle hint of classic progressive elements. Meanwhile, IO (Mulen)'s remix takes a modern proto-trance approach with nods to old-school UK breakbeat. "Tubular Bells" is reminiscent of JOSS's mixes, combining sophisticated tech house with dreamy, contemporary dream house vibes. Together, this release brings new nuances and colors to Artreform's recent work, as well as its cherished historical catalog, much like the striking cover art of this commemorative record.
