Will Saul & Komon - Lost In Time [Kompakt]

A highly respected DJ and producer, Will Saul is not one to be pigeonholed, always spanning the full spectrum of electronic music: from deep house to techno and UK bass. His sets and tracks seek to challenge the boundaries of any given genre, incorporating contemporary impulses and classic inspirations. As label boss of iconic imprints such as Simple or Aus Music, he further sharpened his ear for finding the perfect groove and was invited to contribute his expert selection to the venerated DJ Kicks mix series in 2014. A remix collaboration with British producer October for Michael Mayer's MANTASY REMIXE 2 (KOMPAKT 272) turned out to be an excellent first foray into Kompakt territory. Now, the LOST IN TIME EP follows, for which he teamed up with the talented Bristol producer, KOMON.

Komon and Will have been collaborating for many years, resulting in tracks on Will's DJ Kicks and remixes for labels such as Ninja Tunes (Kelis) and Houndstooth (Throwing Snow). Komon has been a mainstay on Will's Aus Music label, with solo releases and regular collaborations with Appleblim. For Kompakt, they present a trio of engrossing and experimental cuts that are no strangers to atmosphere, but like to keep the audience in check with bursts of pressurized funk. Leading the way is the title cut with the magnificent vocals of BEN WESTBEECH (aka Breach), accompanied by the introspective DRONE and the encompassing track DIGITAL PARADISE: a versatile and powerful output from two artists who perfectly know how to create the right mood.
