The sensational Colombian Afro-Cumbia band Wganda Kenya has been a staple on demanding dance floors for decades. PANORAMA is thrilled to present “Shakalaode,” back on 7-inch format for the first time in a long while, taken from their 1976 release, where they fuse afro-beats with irresistible rhythms. On the A-side, a Fela cover; on the B-side, a The Fatback Band cover, all in a Colombian Afrobeat style — a true double-edged sword for the dance floor.

Reissued by the London label PANORAMA Records as part of their DISCOS PANORAMA series, “Shakalaode” reflects the label's commitment to rediscovering musical treasures from a new perspective. With early support from DJs like Gilles Peterson, Patrick Forge, the Mr Bongo team, and Zag Erlat (My Analog Journal), PANORAMA Records aims to reintroduce this Colombian Afro-Cumbia classic to a new generation of music lovers in 7-inch format.
