Rødhåd and Vril return with the third chapter of their ongoing collaboration, OUT OF PLACE ARTEFACTS III, released through WSNWG.

While previous installments developed the duo’s exploration of the more mysterious and transcendental aspects of sound and texture, this new edition can be understood as an opening of the sonic space. Compositions appear more deliberate, and their architecture becomes more evident. Yet, beneath the surface, the characteristic tension between disorder and clarity continues to define the fundamental structure of the album.

The result is a work imbued with an unsettling cinematic melancholy, traces of which were already present in previous chapters and here reach their fullest expression. The landscapes it evokes are vast and panoramic, though the overall feel of the record remains strangely intimate. It is never entirely clear whether the listener is expanding into the confines of a cosmic solitude or traversing the densest and most complex terrains of the earthly world.

The increased presence of acoustic instruments and the human voice significantly broadens the project's sound spectrum. In the convergence between the organic and the synthetic, esoteric melodies emerge and disappear, while initially diffuse rhythms transform into precise patterns. The result evokes a nostalgia characteristic of film soundtracks, while remaining modern, visionary, and forward-looking.

What we find here is the true aesthetic essence of OOPA: a profound human sense of curiosity and play, fused with a strange sense of distance, as if coming from an alien and unknown place. A work that simultaneously dwells between the earthly and the extraterrestrial, between emotion and abstraction.
