Super Spicy maintains an intense release schedule, and what's even more impressive, it also preserves a very high level of quality. Its eighth installment kicks off with an irresistible appetizer in the form of Monsieur Van Pratt's great piano jam, "Gotta Get Down," tailor-made to fill the dance floor. Voyager 909's "Shake" combines big strings, soulful vocals, and rhythmic claps with a dirty, powerful bassline. There's more straight-to-the-head disco-funk with "Disco 86," sexier sounds with the explosive "Funktastic Fantastic," and Edson Agiss adds brass, guitar riffs, and overflowing Hammond organs in "Comme Ci, Comme Ça." Rob Castillo closes with "Got To Be Slick," an irresistible, soulful, flute-filled house track, with touches of Americana in the guitar riffs hidden in the mix.
