In a year of global changes and continuous transformation, Figure takes a leap of faith and expands its catalog by introducing an entirely new series of compilations to the label.

The Open Space series will showcase visionary Electronica and Ambient, carefully curated from a roster of seasoned producers. Compositions that invite the mind to wander, weaving stories and evoking emotions.

While these softer genres have held a respected role in previous Figure releases, for the first time in the label's history they are given center stage. Volume 1 sets the tone by giving producers, known for their dancefloor-oriented music, an open space to showcase another facet of their talent.

The compilation spans diverse facets of Electronica and Ambient, from introspective synthesizer monologues (Sebastian Muellaert / Kirilik), experimental and droning dub (Moritz Von Oswald), lively and breathing versions of the genre (JakoJako), to singular compositions that slowly build their own lasting narrative, thus developing a genuinely emotional quality (John Beltran / Tin Man).

Len Faki himself demonstrates the artistic breadth of Open Space, sharing a powerful and conscious message through a rare and delicate moment where he explores the form of the spoken word.

Other contributions include Jesper Dahlbäck as The Persuader, Luke Slater as 7th Plain, and Ralf Hildenbeutel, former production collaborator of Sven Väth and now a successful composer of film soundtracks.

Unfairly reduced to background music, this is not the type of Ambient presented in the Open Space series. It is an immersive and captivating body of music, united by its contemplative nature. Open Space brings together a collective of extraordinarily talented producers, finally with the opportunity to present some of their most creative and emotional material to date.
