Kalita Records proudly return to the archives of pioneering South African label Music Team to present five essential, long-lost disco and boogie gems. Lovingly remastered and ready for today’s dancefloors, these carefully selected cuts from Maurice Horwitz’s visionary catalogue showcase the best of the label, finally freeing DJs and collectors from exorbitant prices and the eternal search for almost unobtainable original copies.

Spanning both disco and boogie, the EP opens with Linda’s sought-after 1986 anthem, ‘I Love Soweto’, before moving into Abigail Kubheka’s irresistible 1978 disco bomb, ‘Charisma’, originally released on Music Team sub-label, Spinner.

Flipping over the wax, the focus remains on Spinner with Jappie Lebona’s mythical 1984 boogie cut, ‘You’ve Got It’, produced by the legendary Tom Mkhize, whose signature also appears on Norma T’s 1987 floor bomb, ‘Move To The Beat’. Both the vocal and instrumental versions of this latter track are included here for the first time since their original release.

With this collection, Kalita once again illuminate the phenomenal creativity of Music Team and its artists during the vibrant disco and boogie era of South Africa in the late 70s and 80s, ensuring their legacy lives on for new generations.
