The medium is the message! Vinyl has always been our preferred format for releasing music, and without this tactile form of presentation, Samurai Music could not continue in its current form. Vinyl is the ultimate personification of what the label wishes to represent. The music always comes first, but for us, Vinyl is king.

Hyaku is the 100th vinyl release on Samurai Music. Throughout the many twists and turns in the industry over our nearly 17-year existence, Samurai Music’s vinyl editions have maintained their aspiration for quality and unique design that stands the test of time. Eternal compliments and thanks to our long-serving designer, Ryan Quinlivan, and the many pressing plants we have worked with throughout the label's life.

To mark this milestone, we have gathered a group of producers who best represent the current Samurai Music sound to contribute tracks that reflect their vision of our sound.

Hyaku is a mutable blend of vibes navigating from the scorching ambient drift of Ancestral Voices to the direct assault of Dom and Roland. These are singular visions that capture the artistry of this stunning group of creators at their best.
