Heritage tracks sought out for record diggers to add to their collections. Now in its fifth instalment, the series continues to raise the bar. The A-side features two mixes of Mood II Swing’s mid-nineties production ‘Living In Ecstasy’ by Fonda Rae. The R&B songstress, responsible for cult hits such as ‘Touch Me’, delivers silky vocals which remain as the focus in the initial Groove mix, whilst JC’s Ecstasy Dub follows up with a thumping bassline to deliver a club-focused take. On the flip, we’re greeted with a snippet of 2001 goodness with Jon Cutler’s Original Distant Music Mix featuring E-Man ‘It’s Yours’, a seminal house classic. Closing out the release is The Return’s ‘New Day’, originally released on Fourth Floor Records in 1999, twenty years on, this sublime and soulful piece of house music history sounds fresh as ever.
