Astropolis Records – the label born from the legendary French electronic music festival – celebrates a decade of devotion to electronic music with a generous and deeply emotional anniversary compilation; it arrives a little late, but without losing an ounce of style.
This double vinyl brings together the many facets of the Astropolis galaxy: artists from the label, historical collaborators of the festival, and new voices from a French scene that remains overflowing with vitality. Across 18 artists, the listener is invited on a sonic journey where rave legacy, electronic landscapes, and collective energy intertwine, true to the DNA of a festival that has never known limits.
The album opens with elegance and wonder thanks to Rone, whose electronic sensitivity channels both the intimate and the infinite. Between electronica and downtempo, The Dolphin Ambassador dives into a luminous melancholy, offering a moment of calm before the storm. In an equally contemplative vein, one of Célélé's first productions with Théo Muller is presented: Drum and Drift, a subtle blend of dub vibrations and sun-drenched textures.
Astropolis has always thrived on unexpected encounters, and this compilation proves it. The unlikely union between Mézigue and Swooh launches house into a g-tech vortex with Broken Roll To Venice: a playful explosion of groove, hybrid energy, and a mischievous attitude. That same alchemical spirit drives Belaria & Madben, whose Into The Void burns like an anthem blending nineties rave, EBM, and hypnotic trance. Meanwhile, Zaatar & Trunkline push the intensity to the limit in Come Into The Light, a direct hit to the body crossing techno, dark disco, and EBM.
Pillars of French techno Scan X and Electric Rescue deliver a lesson in mechanical elegance and analog soul in Lost In Time. When Manu Le Malin joins Kmyle, the result is as sharp as it is cinematic: Little Big Man vibrates with a dramatic tension that balances raw emotion and contained fury. Later, Oniris and Benjamin Rippert revisit the spirit of the label's early melodic techno in Sonate, guided by an artisanal sensibility for harmony.
For machine lovers, Legowelt and Cuften revive the spirit of early 2000s electroclash in Liar, a carnal fusion of analog synths and DIY attitude. And for those who live for the dance floor, KiNK finally releases a cult track from his live sets: Give Me, a storm between breakbeat and classic house designed for those sweaty, euphoric moments in the early hours.
This anniversary compilation reaffirms the label's openness to new generations and hybrid sounds, while paying homage to the techno roots that shaped its foundations. Like the festival itself, it represents sincerity and collective energy: a small manifesto that connects generations, aesthetics, and territories, celebrating origins without nostalgia and looking to the future without surrendering to trends.
