This concept, explored at length in the previous installment of this series, is fertile ground that keeps on giving, and boy, does it ever in the tracks we've unearthed for your consideration, enlightenment, education, and enjoyment on Yacht Soul 2.

For those just joining, the idea revolves around R&B and soul artists exploring the songbooks of their white contemporaries to create cover versions that serve a dual purpose: potentially achieving crossover radio airplay while also introducing great songs to audiences who might otherwise overlook them. Some of these covers were born from being personal favorites of the artists; others perhaps were strongly suggested by their labels or publishers. But all offer an entirely new perspective on songs that were already fantastic to begin with.

So here it is: a fresh deep dive into this somewhat nebulous concept that reveals unexpected connections and criss-crossing paths.
