Lee 'Scratch' Perry compiles five extended discomixes recorded at the legendary Black Ark between 1977 and 1979. Disco Devil Vol. 1 captures Perry at his peak, expanding rhythms into cinematic dub excursions where bass, echo, and versions take center stage.

Opening with the original 12” mix of Upsetter's 'Disco Devil', the compilation progresses through powerful tracks such as 'Lion A De Winner', Winston Watson's 'Dispensation', and Junior Murvin's 'Roots Train'. Lord Creator's 'Such Is Life' also appears in a previously unreleased full discomix version, adding even more weight to an already essential selection.

Taken from one of the most fertile periods of the late 70s, these mixes highlight Perry's instinct for space, tension, and studio experimentation, where each track mutates into its own dub ecosystem.
