Charlotte de Witte kicks off 2024 with a new label and a rework of one of techno’s most iconic tracks.

Today, techno force of nature Charlotte de Witte presents a two-part tribute to an iconic era of Belgium’s underground club scene with the launch of an archival imprint within her KNTXT label and a rework of one of techno’s most emblematic tracks of all time. Appropriately titled “Époque”, this sonic time capsule aims to simultaneously preserve and reimagine the spirit, sounds, and culture of late 90s and early 2000s clubbing for a new generation. As label head, de Witte will release her own rendition of Belgian techno classic, M.I.K.E Push’s “Universal Nation”, on February 9th.

Released in 1998 and originally penned by M.I.K.E. Push as a B-side for a different project, “Universal Nation” quickly cemented its late-century reputation as an iconic and defining track in electronic music history. Reimagined through de Witte's high-energy lens, this rendition is an homage to one of her all-time favourite classics.
