Danish composer, musician and producer Trentemøller announces his new studio album Memoria, slated for release in early 2022 via his own label In My Room, along with the first single, In The Gloaming, released on September 10, 2021. Anders Trentemøller's sixth studio album, Memoria, seems to exist at the confluence of inspiration, coincidence and perhaps even a little touch of the supernatural.

A recent and unexpected four-song release, in the form of two singles (No One Quite Like You and Golden Sun), might suggest it was an isolated release; however, there was also an entire album waiting in the wings.

As with most of Trentemøller's work, this is a collection of songs thematically linked by multiple melodic threads.

The first single from the upcoming album, In The Gloaming, released in September 2021, suggests that the album's arc might begin at the end of the day, evoking the feeling of waking at dusk. The beginning of a nocturne: the stars emerge in the form of percussive arpeggios.

Trentemøller's 2019 album, Obverse, was an exercise in what could be achieved if the possibility of performing the songs live was not a factor. That opened new doors and marked the beginning of a new chapter. Memoria, even considering its sonic splendor, almost seems to demand to be performed live as well.
