Tranquil Elephantizer is an electronic/house music collective formed in South London in the early 90s. They have released tracks on Matrix, Definitive, Language, Primal, Wicked, Futureboogie, THC, and Red Laser, with upcoming releases planned on Mysticisms, Shaboom, and Techno House Connoisseurs. Currently based in San Francisco, they combine classic acid house with dub, percussive freestyle jazz, and electro.
A1 – “SFO”
A nod to San Francisco, where the project is based, “SFO” opens with a relaxed jazzy house groove at around 124 BPM. It blends warm chords, a driving bassline, and smooth percussion into a groove that feels like cruising across the Golden Gate at sunset—a laid-back yet engaging start to the EP.
A2 – “Bamba Gascoigne”
At around 124 BPM, this track layers playful synth lines, with hints of acid and Fela Kuti-style influences, over dancefloor-ready beats. Its title—a curious blend of 70s pop culture references—matches the slightly mischievous and curious energy of the track, delivering a more lively and rhythmic twist.
B1 – “Worker”
Also at 124 BPM, “Worker” leans into a deeper, dub-tinged atmosphere. Repetitive percussion loops interweave with a powerful bassline and nimble Rhodes solos, creating a hypnotic groove that evokes the steady pulse of night shifts… ideal for after-hours sessions.
B2 – “Transamerica”
At approximately 124 BPM, this closing track delves into more melodic and atmospheric territory. It combines an energetic 808, shimmering synths, and subtle acid-tinged textures, evoking a nocturnal road trip—open highways, starry skies, and a sense of epic scale.
