For Chris Tooker, the first decade of his artistic journey was immersed in bands, while the second was dedicated to exploring the territories of electronic music as a creator, composer, and engineer for the DJ duo KMLN.

Today, after many incarnations, Tooker returns to his source, carrying both the treasures of his past and a vision for the future. For a long time, he has felt the call to follow obsessive paths through the vast cosmos. On these journeys, he seeks particles with a hypnotic essence. Once found, he interprets that magic in his own way, through the most universal language: music.

His music tells stories of fascinating adventures among the dust, palms, and rough streets of other worlds. It is colorful, profound, and infused with disco touches. It features rare, collected percussion (which he plays live in his sets), distinct instruments, and sometimes whispers a hint of vocals.

Now he releases his debut solo EP, Nang’o, on Acid Pauli and Nico Stojan's Ouïe label.

For the main track, Nang’o, Tooker enlists the phenomenal talent of Labdi, a multi-instrumentalist from Kenya. Labdi's orutu (a string instrument from western Kenya) and his hypnotic vocals shape this subtle and immersive track, presented in both full and instrumental versions.

Baladi features Shawna Hofmann in co-production and vocals: this time with a more defined and constant beat, to which Shawna adds sensual and evocative vocals.

Undone closes the physical edition: another exercise in style characterized by subtlety and control, with an infectious groove that unfolds between bubbling synthesizers, crisp percussion, and dub effects.

The digital edition also includes radio edits of Nang’o and Baladi, as well as a new track, Era, featuring Erodisma. This track builds its strength through an insistent kick drum and an arpeggiated synth line, before revealing soft chords and live-recorded guitars.
