Tony De Vit - The Dawn (Original mix / Fergie Remix)

Re-issue of the legendary 1998 Hard House classic with a new remix by Fergie on the B-side. Tony De Vit and Fergie met in the early 90s, when Fergie was DJing at the age of 14. Tony became Fergie's mentor, and both went on to achieve fame in the 90s by bringing hardcore/hard house and techno to the mainstream.

For 2023, the mentorship comes full circle, with Fergie taking on the task of remixing Tony De Vit's beloved track, 'The Dawn', giving it a fresh touch of modern Techno vibes. Unfortunately, TDV passed away in 1998, making this remix a special and poignant project that Fergie has created.

The Dawn is easily Tony's most iconic track, not only in Hard House, but in electronic music in general. Originally released in 1998 and featured on disc two of the Trade EP. Elements of trance, house, and techno are found in this historic track that takes the listener on a fascinating journey.

Last year, Tony became the first DJ in history to receive the illustrious honour of a Commemorative Blue Plaque. It stands at the site of the Custard Factory recording studios, where Tony produced and remixed over 100 songs between 1994 and 1998, including 11 UK singles chart hits under his own name. It was an official recognition of the cultural and social impact of 90s clubbing, led and symbolised by DJs like Tony de Vit, who did so much to break down barriers in society.
