Tim Davis - No Computers Necessary [Vibraphone]

Chicago producer Tai Davis caught the eye earlier this year with the 12” Made In Chicago on Dizzy Tunes, and now follows up with an EP on the ever-prolific Vibraphone label. As the title No Computers Necessary suggests, this is classic roots house, with all the charm that working with hardware offers. Davis's productions are luminous and melodic compositions, with solid grooves and powerful hooks designed for all kinds of good times. The B2 track, “Floating”, stands out especially with an acid line that breaks into a remarkably ethereal soundscape.
