For the fourth installment of the "Roar Groove meets Dirt Crew" series, we present this fresh set of brilliant and dubby cuts by The Revenge. Since the last episode, Graeme has been super busy working on his "live" studio setup, coming up with a whole range of new jams, from which we have selected the four tracks that follow. We feel they perfectly represent his unique style – as soon as you hear them in a club, you instantly know "that's a Revenge track," something we've always loved about his sound.

The opening track, "Like an Ending," is a hypnotic, melancholic yet euphoric cut, driven by a Moog Voyager bassline and a classic house vibe with enveloping pads. The original recording was an 11-minute live take, the essence of which he has managed to capture and condense into this powerful floor jam. The A2 is all about good vibes and reminds us very much of early 90s "French Touch" – filtered house at its best. It keeps swirling around in your head, and with its more relaxed tempo, we're sure it will work especially well for sunrise sets and sun-drenched summer beach spots.

On the flip side, we enter darker and dubbier territories. Here, in Graeme's words: "This one had been kicking around in various versions for a couple of years, but it wasn't until I stripped everything back and let the arpeggiated synth do its thing that it really clicked. It’s all about the groove; I ended up removing extra hi-hats and elements that were just getting in the way." And we have to mention that we love that marimba. This track feels like a spaceship floating in the sky until it eventually lands.

To close out this new work, we have one of those classic Revenge chuggers full of stabs – loose, floaty, with sustained synth lines underpinned by a distinct beat. It has a certain breakbeat feel, and with the improvisation on synths and melodies over the top, it’s a true dub house track.

Summer is here, and this record sets the pace and tone. Enjoy!
