The Juan Maclean - Panic In Fort Greene Park EP [Razor-N-Tape]

Veteran NYC producer and DFA stalwart Juan MacLean jumps aboard the RNT bandwagon for an energetic EP of machine-driven percussive grooves for the Reserve sub-label. The record kicks off with the banging Fine Time, perfect for the peak of the night, building exquisite tension and releasing it via looped and filtered samples, then moving into the boogie-infused swing of Don’t Stop For Nothing. Everybody Clap opens the B-side with a soulful, string-laden vocal over a hi-hat-focused house arrangement, and the EP concludes on a more dubby note with the eponymous Panic In Fort Greene Park, a synth-laden and smooth slow burner. Overall, beautifully produced and eminently playable, Mr. Maclean has made a most welcome addition to the Razor-N-Tape family with this dynamic EP.
