The track—an instrumental, irresistibly catchy take on Archie Bell & The Drells’ million-selling US #1 hit from 1968—was originally released in 2006 on Kenny Dope and Keb Darge’s KAY-DEE label.

It instantly became a favourite within Soul and Acid Jazz circles, with its popularity quickly spreading across all dance floor genres. LANCE FERGUSON, the mastermind behind THE BAMBOOS, showed his genius by completely ditching the idea of including vocals or lyrics on a composition Rolling Stone magazine called “one of the greatest songs of all time”, and instead, gave us this eccentric and irresistible instrumental we all love. Did someone say funky flute?
