US house legend Teddy Douglas of Basement Boys and Jasper St. Co. is set to release his first solo album, “I’m Here,” on the iconic Nervous Records label. Teddy has pulled out all the stops to deliver one of his most creative and musically diverse albums to date. “I’m Here” is a colorful palette of meaningful songs and grooves that go far beyond Teddy’s signature soulful Baltimore house sound, with added infusions of funk, rock, and jazz, but still loaded with the characteristic Teddy house and disco we all know and love.

Throughout the album, he has assembled an impressive cast of international vocal talents, including: British vocal diva Pauline Taylor; award-winning Danish folk and blues artist Richard Farrell; Chicago hip house legend Fast Eddie; iconic dance music vocal queen Ultra Naté; rising British soul talent Sipho; and Blackmoon’s Buckshot, appearing as BDI Thug. From the brilliant cover of The Frontline Orchestra’s “Don’t Turn Your Back On Me,” with Pauline Taylor on vocals, to the downtempo rock vibes of “Help!” with Sipho delivering a gritty, soulful vocal performance, “I’m Here” is a testament to Teddy’s expert musical sensibility and impeccable ability to compose great songs and deliver vibrant versions.

Baltimore native Teddy Douglas has produced for artists such as Michael Jackson, Lenny Kravitz, Crystal Waters, Erykah Badu, Martha Wash, and Ultra Naté, and was a key figure in the development of the Baltimore "house" sound. Teddy has maintained a long and successful career as a DJ since 1983, starting in Baltimore and expanding globally, conquering turntables in clubs like Yellow in Japan and Ministry of Sound in London, among others. In 1985, he met Jay Steinhour and Thommy Davis, with whom he later formed the production company The Basement Boys. The Basement Boys have produced countless dance music classics, such as Crystal Waters' 1991 gold single, “Gypsy Woman.” In the mid-90s, Teddy Douglas and Jay Steinhour founded Basement Boys Records and released club anthems by Teddy Douglas, Jasper St. Co., Ann Nesby, Those Guys, DJ Spen, Byron Stingily, Karizma, Kenny Bobien, Taja Seville, and many more.
