Our latest digital motor control technology, developed from Blu-ray disc products, allows you to adjust the torque and brake speed separately in four steps for precise control.

Pitch control function.
Adjust the rotation speed with a margin of ±8% / ±16% with our digital pitch control function. It uses digital control from slider position detection to motor rotation, eliminating unnecessary D/A conversion. This system ensures precise and stable pitch adjustments for better tracking performance.

Reverse play function.
Explore new creative possibilities with the reverse play function, making its debut in the SL-1200 series. You can switch between 33-1/3 rpm, 45 rpm, and even 78 rpm speeds.

Coreless direct drive motor for stable rotation.

The direct drive system uses a slow-rotating motor to directly drive the platter, offering high performance, accuracy, and powerful torque without the need for part replacement. While traditional direct drive systems had issues with rotational irregularity (known as "cogging"), the SL-1200MK7 system features a new coreless direct drive motor that eliminates this problem. The motor's enhanced magnetic force and optimized stator-rotor gap ensure smooth rotation and high torque, on par with the SL-1200MK5 system, resulting in faithful and accurate sound reproduction from your records.

High-sensitivity tonearm for reliable performance.

The tonearm, a favorite in the DJ scene for years, features the reliable static-balanced universal S-shaped design. Thanks to high-precision bearings, it offers better initial motion sensitivity than the SL-1200MK6 system, meaning it accurately tracks the record grooves, thus ensuring excellent performance and minimal skipping, even during intense scratching sessions.
