It's fitting that a Stones Throw alumnus would turn to Star Creature for this next phase of his already impressive musical journey. After several amazing albums ranging from hip hop to jazz-funk and all sorts of fusions in between for, arguably, one of the most influential "underground" labels of the past two decades, Stimulator Jones gives us a taste of what we hope will be a series of these Stimulator Tracks on Chicago's Star Creature. Part Fingers Inc, part Ten City, part Armando; all something you might find in the Local section of Windy City's flagship store, Gramaphone Records. A bit of acid, deep, atmospheric, and soulful that sits between raw DJ tools and well-produced EP material, sure to sound amazing near any front left speaker. An exciting direction for both SJ and SC and a partnership we're anticipating to see develop further.
