Space Dimension Controller - Final Quest EP [Aus Music]

It's been a while since we last heard from Jack Hamill, AKA Space Dimension Controller; his latest releases for Hypercolour and Running Back are, of course, stellar, but Aus Music in particular hasn't been his home since 2021, and fans know he's the kind of artist who brings a unique inflection to each label, even though his style maintains a palpable cosmic thread. 'Final Quest' once again centers on the invention of an SDC character, Tiraquon, a jetpack-wearing intergalactic voyager whose ambitions know no bounds. On 'Jet Free', we hear Tiraquon don the jetpack again like a teenager fantasising about power in an Evangelion, slowly regaining confidence through a brilliantly constructed future disco with magnificent swing. Then comes 'Cryfaze', which dazzles to the point of blindness, and 'Tiraquon's Final Quest', a climax of acid synthesis and variety. Finally, Tiraquon lands in France for a 4x4 '1 4 U', dedicated not to the indulgent pleasures of IDM/acid, but rather to summer-evoking beach sunrise atmospheres.
