Sound Support - Higher EP [Toy Tonics]

They've been friends and occasional studio buddies for years, so it makes perfect sense that Lorenz Rhode and Dam Swindle's Lars Dale have decided to launch a joint project called Sound Support. This is the project's debut release, and as you'd expect given their strong track records, it's packed with peak-time-ready house delights. Title track 'Higher' sounds like the missing link between Sound Stream's sticky disco-house grooves and warmer, more laid-back, jazz-funk-flecked peak-time anthems, while 'Bump Into You' is a soulful, string-drenched disco-house anthem in waiting. They kick off the B-side with a brilliant, bassline-driven, nostalgia-tinged, warehouse-ready slab ('Work 2 It'), before adding boogie synths, elastic electrofunk bass, deep house chords and crunchy drums on 'The Rock'.
