Snad returns to Smallville.

Shyam Anand, long-time Smallville friend and MPC wizard with an open heart, is finally presenting a 12” entirely his own, and we couldn’t be more excited.

After an amazing contribution to Smallville 49 (don’t miss Excerptz!), Snad a.k.a Spandrel a.k.a Shyam Anand is dropping a three-tracker packed with his irresistible grooves, unexpected twists, and an overall magical atmosphere. Originally from the outskirts of Philadelphia, then moving to Chicago and later exploring the global underground scenes of Berlin and Mexico City, among others, Snad is a busy man. He runs his own label Spandrel, co-runs We R The Aliens and has an impressive back catalogue of contributions to beloved labels like Running Back, Courtesy of Balance, Kimochi, Long Vehicle, 20:20 Vision, Phonica and many more.

On this 12”, the A-side is fully dedicated to Bubblescope: 14.5 minutes of mesmerizing modular spheres driven by the Ensoniq DP/4 vocoder. It’s a bubbling, deeply immersive piece of art, building an intense feeling that could stretch on for hours.

On the B-side, Snad keeps the deepness going: Lukewarm Lava explores the world of broken beat before taking you on a ride. The beloved B2 spot is taken by Tanni, an essential piece in Julius’s warmup sets since forever and, therefore, special to finally be pressed to wax.
