Shlomi Aber, founder of the Be As One label, returns to Chris Liebing's platform CLR, with the Schema EP, scheduled for release on May 15, 2026, and including a remix by James Ruskin.

Active since 1994, Aber has been a pivotal figure in underground techno for over three decades. His precise and hypnotic approach both in the studio and behind the decks has led him to release music on some of the most respected labels in the scene, including Cocoon, Ovum, Nonplus, and Figure. With Schema, he continues a particularly strong recent run that includes his Retrospective EP for Ben Klock's Klockworks, as well as his previous works for CLR: Limelight (2025) and Remote 101 (2023), both of which spent over two years on Beatport's techno charts and were supported by artists like Carl Cox, Alienata, Dave Clarke, and many others.

Schema opens with the EP's title track and immediately delves into deep, subterranean territories, combining powerful low-frequency pressure with meticulously controlled tension. Its vibrant basslines are balanced by sharp hi-hats and static-laden textures that appear and disappear within the mix, keeping the groove steady and the atmosphere constantly tense.

On remix duties, James Ruskin, founder of the influential Blueprint label, delivers a somber and atmospheric reinterpretation. Haunting pads float in the background while a dense, swampy bassline underpins the rhythm, allowing ghostly melodic elements to slowly unfold and build a deep, immersive version, ideal for the late hours of the night and the darker spaces.

The closing comes with Gasolina, where Aber shifts into broken beat territory. Warm, glitch-laden rhythms repeat with hypnotic precision, while ethereal synth motifs appear and disappear, lending a cinematic and enveloping quality that concludes the release with subtle yet effective intensity.

Founded in 1999 by Chris Liebing and relaunched in 2021 after a five-year hiatus, Create Learn Repeat (CLR) has established itself as one of the most influential platforms in contemporary techno. Throughout its history, it has hosted works by artists such as Dubfire, Flug, Bjarki, and DJ Dextro, while also promoting a new generation of talent including Risa Taniguchi, The Southern, and Klint.
