Serge Funk has recently made a name for himself as the wunderkind of disco and funky-house edits. A re-editor for true gem-seekers, rather than those who follow the obvious. Groovy Theme and Cherry Bomb are bona fide bombs that bear little resemblance to their originals (in fact, it would be hard to identify the samples without collector knowledge), thanks in large part to their rhythm-centric structure, which relegates vocals to the background in favor of powerful kick drums and gut-punching basslines.
